Spiderwort Sweet Kate
$8.95
The bright foliage, tidy clump forming habit, and sturdy stems make this easy care perennial a great addition any garden or container. Sweet Kate Spiderwort develops into a amazing mound of bright yellow to yellow-green, strap-like foliage that is topped by deep purple-blue flowers beginning in mid spring until early summer on established plants, often with some flowers in late summer and fall as well. Provide midday to afternoon shade as the foliage may burn in full sun. Low enough that it can be planted in the front or middle of any garden for amazing interest. The flowers are visited by a variety of pollinators including bees and butterflies. Cutting the entire plant back to near the ground after flowering is completed in summer will help promote fall flowering. This variety clumps and doesn’t reseed like its close relatives.
